Universal has purchased the rights to the comedic novel "Lunatics" by Dave Barry and Alan Zweibel
as a starring vehicle for Steve Carell, with Carell also producing through his Carousel Productions.

The novel, which doesn't hit stores until January 10th, tells the story of two men: Philip Horkman,
a happy-go-lucky New Jersey pet store owner who serves as a referee for kids' soccer games on the
weekends; and Jeffrey Peckerman, a cynical soccer dad whose minor feud with Horkman escalates
to the point where the two are eventually pursued by law enforcement, terrorists, soldiers and
some guy dressed up as "Chuck E. Cheese". Carell would play the Horkman role.

'Moneyball' Director Will Team Up with Steve Carell for 'Foxcatcher'

Oscar nominated director Bennett Miller has been trying to get Foxcatcher, his film about the
life of convicted murderer John du Pont, off the ground since at least 2007.

Variety reports that Steve Carell, will play du Pont in one of the weirdest crime stories in recent
memory. The likely heir to the prominent du Pont family fortune, John opened up a training
facility for wrestlers on his Pennsylvania estate, and became friends with a number of athletes.
One in particular, Olympian freestyle wrestler Dave Schultz, was especially close with him. In
1996, du Pont shot and murdered Schultz in his driveway, later claiming Schulz was part of
some grand conspiracy to kill him.

Production is expected to start in March.

OMG i just met Steve Carell at the Melbourne premiere and i got hes autograph
i havnt got a pic with him but i got plenty pics of him i was so close to him i could reach out and
touch him and i heard every word he said wen he got interveiwed i could almost trach out and
touch him OMG and the way he signed it he put it on his leg yummy oh and he came over i was like
hi Steve and he was like heyy i was all so on tv aaaaah he can look bak at that im so friggen HAPPY
yay and he was wearing hes glasses OMFG he looks so hott in person im amased his 49 years old
hes so cute we were bout to get a pic with him but he had to go get interveiwed doesnt matter
and his laugh and smile there both so cute and adorible at the same time LOVE U STEVE

thats me in the blue jumper im not looking that exciting i think my heart was pumping so hard

Steve Carell Set to Produce Showtime Interview Series

Showtime has picked up Steve Carell and David Steinberg's docu/interview series, now titled
Laughing Stock. The series, which will premiere in January, features host Steinberg interviewing
top comedians of several generations, including Carl Reiner, Mel Brooks, Lily Tomlin, Don
Rickles, Carol Burnett, Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen DeGeneres, Judd Apatow, Robin Williams, Sarah
Silverman, Chris Rock, Jane Lynch, Tina Fey and Carell.

"We have gathered a monumental assortment of comedic legends and their contemporary
proteges," said Carell in a statement from Showtime. "It's enlightening, fascinating but more
importantly, it's funny."

Julia: favorite moment is a tie between his kiss w oscar and him portraying angela, phyllis and
jim in the vid.
my favorite quote is that's what she said or "Would I rather be feared or loved? Umm.... easy,
both... I want people to be afraid of how much they love me." Or BOOM ROASTED.

I think my favourite quote (at the moment) is "monkey see, monkey do, monkey pee all over
you" I couldn't breathe the first time I heard that. But there are soooo many quotes I can't
actually choose one... I quote him everyday!

conversation! If I had to choose one episode right now it would have to be Fun Run. I thought
the whole episode was hilarious from start to finish. I felt like I laughed every time Michael said
something. I especially loved when he told everyone Meredith was hit by a car and was alright.
That’s a really nice tribute for Steve! I can’t even imagine watching tomorrow’s episode:(.

"Little Miss Sunshine" producers Albert Berger, Ron Yerxa and Polly Johnsen are prepping an
adaptation of Tom Perrotta's 2007 book "The Abstinence Teacher." And high-profile talents Carell
and Sandra Bullock set to star.

The story follows a liberal-minded divorcee in middle America, a sex education teacher who doesn't
see eye to eye with the more conservative folks in her community. A wrinkle enters the story in
the form of the teacher's daughter's soccer coach, a born again Christian whom she falls for. Bullock
would presumably take the teacher role and Carell, the coach.
