Warner Bros. has shelled out a cool $2 million against $2.5 million for an untitled spec script from
Cars writer Dan Fogelman, that is being developed as a star vehicle for Steve Carell.
According to Variety, the script has a tone comparable to Love Actually. In the film, Carell will play
a father whose life unravels while he deals with a marital crisis and tries to manage his relationship
with his children.
Fogelman wrote the script specifically with Carell in mind, and WB paid a premium for that.
No production date has been set.
"Get Smart 2" has been pushed back for the second year.
